About us

As a self-sufficient Charitable rehabilitation service organisation, a vision and disability service hub, our caring rehab staff/helpers are alongside on client-support and care. You or your loved one will be given the best chance of adjustment/recovery knowing that your best interests are always at the forefront of our considerations.

We strive to achieve an inclusive and synergistic relationship with every client/patient who walks through our doors. Creating a “win-win” relationship will enable us to offer you and your family the best possible care by providing a simplified and centralised set of services; easier for both us and clients.

Our Service Philosophy

Through individual and group therapies and training conducted by our qualified and experienced staff, we provide the most efficient and reasonable approaches to help individuals adjust to their disabilities. Our staff is dedicated to comprehensive, sustainable improvements and creates individualised programme plans for each client.

From our centre-based program (in our VRS facility) to comprehensive itinerant and remote upkeep (where clients are), Vision Rehabilitation Services’ philosophy includes several pillars of service:

❖ Always Available

The first step to getting help is getting in touch. Vision loss does not maintain 9–5 office hours, so neither do we. We are available even past office working hours. For more information, a free consultation or to schedule a tour, contact Vision Rehab Services today at 09 525 1488 or reach out to us online. It is crucial that you or your loved one gets help as soon as possible. Early intervention can be helpful in promoting long-term positive outcomes. It is not necessary to hit “rock bottom” before beginning to receive for assistance. Instead, you can start adjustment training/therapy as soon as you are ready.

❖ Qualified

To ensure your safety, comfort, and successful upturn results, each of our team are qualified professionals in the field and in compliance with all Allied Health Services standards.

❖ Collaborative

We understand that regaining confidence and independence from a disability takes a village. With your permission, we can communicate with your primary care physician, medical specialists, counsellors, and agencies in your community. These professionals can help you with your continued rehabilitation recovery once you finish intensive training/therapy with us. By connecting our clients/patients with community resources, we can help them re-establish their lives. Disability can impact your finances, relationships, and even your employment or housing. In regaining independence, you will have the support you need to become your happiest, healthiest self. We will help you break the cycle of dependence and self-doubt so you can experience a fuller life.

❖ Involved With Your Family

Few of us get better by ourselves. Having a disability at times can be isolating. It can feel as though no one else understands your struggles and that you are on your own as you work to recover or adapt. While group therapy/training can provide the support of other individuals who have faced similar challenges, having the encouragement of loved ones is a vital part of healing for many. That’s why, when appropriate, we involve our client’s family members in family therapy and education. Your loved ones will learn more about your disability and will discover how to support you without enabling destructive behaviours. In family training/therapies, you will be able to work through challenging issues in a safe, supportive environment with the help of an experienced rehabilitation specialist. Everyone needs the support and involvement of loved ones. This rehabilitation approach will help both you and your family to heal and adapt together.
