Become a Patient
We welcome referrals from health professionals, community organisations, or you can refer yourself. Here’s how to get started.
Step-by-Step Guide
✅ Step 1 — Check Your Everyday Needs
Ask yourself:
Do you need help with safe travel or Orientation & Mobility (O&M) training?
Do you need support from carers or family?
Can you safely make phone calls and stay in touch with others?
If you’re unsure, our team can help you understand what support may be right for you.
✅ Step 2 — Have a Recent Eye or Medical Report
To ensure you get the best support, please have an eye report or medical report from within the last 12 months — as your eye condition can change over time.
✅ Step 3 — Send a Referral to VRS
You (or your organisation) can send your referral directly to us at:
Please include your diagnosis, eye report, and any relevant medical information.
✅ Step 4 — We’ll Be in Touch
Once we receive your referral, our team will contact you to arrange an assessment appointment with one of our specialists.
